AQUATHLON: Foot Anstey event proving as popular as ever
5:00pm Saturday 4th February 2012

PLACES are filling up fast for the eighth annual Taunton Deane Foot Anstey Aquathlon taking place at Wellington Sports Centre on February 26.
The event is open to anyone over 14 of whatever level.
The competition has two performance distances – a 500m swim followed by a five kilometere run, or the more challenging option of a 1,000m swim followed by a 10K run. It is a continuous race that mixes both swimming and running against the clock.
Two person team entries are available for those who don't want to do the whole event.
For businesses, clubs and other organizations, the Corporate Challenge offers an opportunity to compete against other organizations.
Teams can enter either distance, with the total of the two team’s finishing positions counting as the final Corporate score.
Foot Anstey’s David Turner said: “Every year this event gets bigger and more popular. It’s a great way to get back into shape after the festive season.
“We are always very keen to support community events such as this and every year several of our own staff enter.
“The team event and the Corporate Challenge make it easier for beginners to get involved and experience this fast-growing multi-disciplinary sport for the first time.”
The aquathlon is organised by Tone Leisure and Somerset Road Club triathlon section.
